Research

Welcome to Nursing Research at The University of Melbourne.

With a focus on clinical excellence and world-class research, we are a leading centre of nursing research in Australia, staffed by internationally recognised researchers with extensive affiliations with renowned research institutes and hospitals.

We are currently engaged in a wide range of research projects and activities, funded from sources such as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NH&MRC), the Australian Research Council (ARC) and industry partners that include hospitals and clinical agencies, government agencies, professional organisations and philanthropic trusts. Our research is published in high impact multidisciplinary journals, and a variety of strategies have ensured the translation of this research into practical and policy-driven outcomes.

We offer excellent supervision to research students in key areas such as mental health, cancer and palliative care nursing, paediatrics and acute care, including pain assessment and management. Our research students benefit from the University's membership of Universitas 21 and the Group of Eight, offering opportunities for overseas study with Universitas 21 partners, travel and conference scholarships.
