Applications

Applications for the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice and the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Practice are accepted for Semester 1 and 2. Some restrictions apply to mid-year entry due to subject prerequisites.

Applications for the Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Practice are only accepted for Semester 1.

Please ensure you meet the Admission requirements before applying.

If you are applying for the Therapeutic Medication Management Education Program only, please apply via the Community Access Program.

Local applicants

Local applicants (Australian and New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents) should apply directly to the University through the online application system.

Application materials

You will need to provide the following:

  • original or certified copy of your Bachelor of Nursing transcript or equivalent training documents (including separate confirmation of qualification completion if your transcript does not state you have completed your course)
  • certified copy of your current NBV registration
  • resume
  • Confirmation of Employment and Clinical Support Form completed by your agency
  • evidence that you meet the University’s English language requirements (if English is not your first language)
  • Credit Application Form and supporting documentation (if applicable)
  • Employer Support of Advanced Practice Role form (if applicable)


Indigenous applicants

The University's Centre for Indigenous Education (CIE) offers assistance and support with course and scholarship applications. 


International applicants

International applicants should apply through the University of Melbourne’s International Admissions Office. You can apply online, download an application form or request one be sent. You should provide as many of the application materials listed above as possible with your application.

International applicants are advised to contact the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) at the nearest Australian Embassy for advice about visas and immigration.
