Graduate Nurse Program

During the first year of employment, it is usual for newly qualified nurses to undertake a Graduate Nurse Program (GNP). A GNP involves paid employment while recognising your needs as a newly qualified nurse and providing assistance to consolidate your knowledge in clinical practice. Applications for GNPs are managed by the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria using Computer Match Online.


Specialty and advanced practice

As a registered nurse you will have many employment opportunities and may choose to specialise in a particular area of nursing. Once you have at least one year of work experience you may apply to study for a specialty qualification. We offer a number of specialty and advanced practice courses, including:


Nursing research

Once you have completed your first nursing degree you may wish to pursue a career in nursing research. The Master of Nursing Science contains a significant research component allowing students to apply directly for research higher degrees. We offer a PhD and a Master of Philosophy program.
